FORTUNE SEEKERS

About refugees, migrants, fear and hope.

According to Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer, the massive immigration to Europe cannot be stopped. ‘And what is inevitable is best organized as well as possible.’ Fortune Seekers is a collection of Pfeijffer’s journalistic pieces and columns from nrc.next, an excerpt from his novel La Superba (2013), a poem from Idylls (2015) and a song text written for Ellen ten Damme. With Fortune Seekers, Pfeijffer shows a powerful opposition to the noise of fear and hatred that is being generated by populists. He shows the reader in a confrontational way how poignant the situation is at the moment, but actually for a number of years now, and argues for a dignified existence for every person.

All the revenues from Fortune Seekers are donated to Working without Borders, a new initiative that aims to link talented refugees with a residence permit to employers.
